Crazy Rich Asians + Gucci Bamboo

Ok, so have you seen the trailer for Crazy Rich Asians? I’ve not been this excited for a film since – well –  I can’t remember. So much good in there.

My Sephora goodies arrived and I was happy with all but one. I had to take back my Gucci Bloom roller as the dry down scent was cloying. I exchanged it for Gucci Bamboo, which is perfection (they sell the rollerball in store at Sephora or online at Nordstrom.) I’ve been seeking a perfume that smells like the one my favourite aunt used to wear. Since perfumes adjust to each person’s individual chemistry, the scent she wore was never the same on me, but Gucci Bamboo is so much like it! Here is the description, “Deep Sandalwood, heady Tahitian Vanilla and unique grey Amber accords strike a complementary contrast with the inherent femininity found in exotic floral notes of soft Casablanca Lily, feminine Orange Blossom and delicate Ylang Ylang.” Well, I don’t know about any of that, but it gives off the same warm, vanilla-wrapped floral scent I remember from my childhood. I don’t wear it often because so many fragrances contain toxins, but I wear a little on my wrists when I want a little boost.

Are you excited for Crazy Rich Asians? Have you found any new fragrances?

  1. I am SO excited to see Crazy Rich Asians! I really enjoyed the books, and I like Constance Wu in Fresh Off the Boat. Before that, though, I’m planning to go and see Finding Your Feet with friends. It’s a British comedy with some super actresses.

My Sephora order should arrive tomorrow, so tomorrow night will be face mask night!

Love to hear from you!
