Sunday Things

It’s snowing today. What fresh hell. Doesn’t mother nature know I want to wear ballet flats and a cute blazer?

Our things are still all packed away but the kitchen is progressing well. This house dates from the early 2000s, so no knob and tube or aluminum wiring surprises. Hurrah.

This is what it looks like right now.

The upper looks cream in this light but all wall cabinets are snowflake white.

I still have to pick the countertop and after binging Selling Sunset on Netflix (think Real Housewives real estate), I am thinking maybe slightly more industrial for a bit of a modern punch. I need to decide that early this week. So. Many. Choices. But still loving the Dekton for durability.

I like the old/new thing like this light and art against the Dynasty catwalk. The light is the Mullet Sputnik from Wayfair. It’s a good price, lightweight, easy to hang (relatively – the space required scaffolding, but the electrician said it was easy to put up compared to the ornate light he brought down), and easy to change the bulbs. It gives a big look in our double height foyer without requiring ceiling reinforcement.

We celebrated a special birthday this week. My friend made the gluten free carrot cake.

I’m obsessed with this Lilac Mrs. Meyer’s cleaning bundle. It smells like spring.

Christiane Northrup’s Making Life Easy is excellent. If you want some spring motivation, it’s fabulous.

Toronto just launched its production of Dear Evan Hansen. It’s a cryfest. Go now.

Take care, lovelies.

  1. Belated Happy Birthday Jen! That cake looks lovely. Can you believe the snow again? It looks like here we’ll be up to 7°C by Tuesday and a high of 9 on Wednesday. I still have all my winter gear out though!

    • It was actually my mom’s birthday and I’ll pass along the good wishes! I could not believe the snow! At least ours melted right away. I’m game for patio weather not winter boots! Xx

  2. Yesterday’s weather was INSANE. Ontario is famous for having one last big snow/ice storm in late-March, early-April, so I guess this was it! I live 30 min north of Toronto and it snowed here ALL DAMN DAY.
